GOVERNOR JANG ENDORSES REBRANDING CAMPAIGN, ADVOCATES PEACE IN N'DELTA.

The Plateau State Government has thrown its weight behind the ongoing Rebranding Campaign in Nigeria saying that the project champions the course of ethical re-orientation as reflected in its own Ten-Point Agenda.
Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang who stated this at Government House, Jos when the Information and Communications Minister, Prof. Dora Akunyili paid him a courtesy visit charged the Nigerian media to provide the necessary support for the success of the campaign.
Governor Jang condemned the Nigerian media for conniving with the foreign media to report Nigeria negatively and used the occasion to call on militants in the South-south to drop their arms and embrace peace in the interest of the nation.
The Governor pointed out that the rebranding Nigeria campaign is very critical to the nation’s development and promised to support the rebranding campaign of the Federal Government because of his belief in it.
He further stressed the need to enlist the support of the religious leaders for the message to be preached in churches and mosques.
Speaking, Prof. Akunyili maintained that “if the Rebranding Campaign works, the Seven-Point Agenda will work and Nigeria’s developmental programmes”. She informed the Governor of her Ministry’s plan to have a Town Hall Meeting on Rebranding in the State and one of the Local Government Areas.
Akunyili thanked the Governor for the way he worked for peace in the State saying that without peace there can never be any meaningful development. The Minister also expressed her appreciation to the Governor for his commitment to the growth of the Nigerian Film Corporation in Jos.
Meanwhile, the Information and Communications Minister paid a courtesy visit to the Gbong Gwom of Jos, His Royal Majesty Jacob Buba and to a former Nigerian Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon to solicit for their support on the Rebranding Campaign.
