Professor Akunyili urged Nigerians to partner seriously in this campaign to rebrand Nigeria as she said, every Nigerian is a stakeholder.  In view of that, she declared that she intends to carry the campaign down to the grassroots, schools and tertiary institutions to urge people to form clubs in order to make many imbibe the spirit of re-branding.  She added that more and more awareness campaign will be carried out from time to time in all nook and crannies of the country.

Professor Akunyili assured Nigerians that President Umaru Musa Yar`Adua by the spirit of re-branding is working hard to improving the lives of Nigerians through strict and sincere implementation of the 7-Point Agenda.

She therefore implored the people of Plateau State and the entire nation to join wholeheartedly in this noble partnership to re-position Nigeria both internally and externally so as to empower her to become more respected and a bigger actor in the global world of business and international politics.

In his palace the wong Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Buba Gyang commended the Federal government for this laudable initiative and called on Nigerians to patronize Made in Nigeria Goods.  He also tasks the clerics to continue to preach the gospel of this re-branding in churches and mosques.

In his speech the chairman of the occasion, the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bagudu Hirse said re-branding is what Nigerians need at this point in time.   He said Nigeria has done a lot for the African countries and even the entire World which needs to be portrayed adding that Nigeria is a great nation blessed with both human and natural resources.  He said Nigerians are hard working, kind, intelligent, knowledgeable and great.  He declared that we need to celebrate and publicize these great Nigerians as well as ordinary ones too.

Hirse stated that Ministry of Foreign Affairs Have found a linkage between the concept of Re-branding Nigeria project and the concept of Citizenship Diplomacy which he said is all about protecting, defending as well as propagating Nigeria`s interest and welfare both at home and abroad.  This, he said is to ensure that Nigerians are well respected and by extension, they should also respect the rules and regulations of their host countries.

Bagudu stressed the need for Nigerians to have a re-orientation and attitudinal change thereby calling on all stakeholders in Plateau State and the entire north-Central States to wholeheartedly accept and support the program.
