My Dear Visitors,

All people, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender or age, should be allowed to recognize the development issues they themselves face, participate in addressing them and enjoy the fruits of such endeavours.

For this above reason, we have come up with a brand new website to re-evaluate how best we could reach you and provide you with a veritable platform to contribute towards this all inclusive war to reform, re-engineer and reposition our great country for the 21st century development race.

The new website of the Ministry of Information and Communications you are visiting now is the Nigerian Government’s way of acknowledging your relevance as a key ally in the sustainable advancement of this potentially prosperous country.

I therefore pray that whatever information you think we need to populate this site or whatever you think that is not available  in it, do not hesitate to communicate to us.

On our part, we have undertaken to push the activities and intentions of our Government to you as conscientiously and frankly as possible providing in the process, a feedback mechanism that allows us to share your concerns.

The news section (Pres Releases/Reports from the Villa), would largely reflect the activities of various arms of Government and where necessary, referrals or links would be created for further follow-ups.

Every Nigerian is as worried as each other on the perception of our country and her citizens and the ill-treatments they receive outside our shores. We cannot afford to watch the life raft of our nation sink. We are a resilient breed of human beings perhaps only equaled by a few nations on earth.

A few undesirable elements in our midst have been uncharitable to our fatherland through the wrong values they display within and outside the country and every Nigerian is paying dearly for it.

By so doing, they deliberately intend to break our spirit by their efforts to bedraggle the nation’s image and in the process, deliberately inflict on a nation and its government, conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in the whole or in part.

We will refuse to allow our national spirit to be broken. The new website therefore is providing impetus to address this image crisis under the aegis of the re-branding project. We must create consensus between our lives, values and the future of this country. This is not the Nigeria our fore fathers bequeathed to us. Morally, we are bound by both history and conscience to bequeath no less to our children. This is the simple reason we are re-branding.

In doing so, we have benefitted immensely from previous attempts to address our image crisis. We rather believe that we should tackle the problem from within rather than from outside. When we successfully dismantle serious brand eroders within, foreigners and Nigerians in the Diaspora will have no other choice but to adapt to our new values, behavioural patterns and mannerisms.

Your opinion is therefore critical in the re-evaluation of what we are doing as a government.  We want to take all Nigerians on board in this fight and take advantage of our aggregate strength to mould a better nation. Only the dead does not change his opinion. We are a listening Government.

On behalf of the Government of Nigeria and the Ministry of Information and Communications in particular, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to this site.

You are Welcome, My Great People.
